The DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, and was the final evolution of the marque started by the DB4. Production of the DB6 continued until July 1969, (when the Mark II was announced) by which time some 1,325 cars had been produced. Numerous improvements were made on the previous DB5, more of a structural than mechanical nature, including a longer wheel base and higher roofline which gave better leg and headroom for any rear seat passengers, and the 'Kamm' tail which enhanced stability and aerodynamic drag factor. Two other variants of the car were also manufactured, a convertible (Volante) which boasted a power operated roof, and an estate (shooting Brake) whose bodywork was fabricated by Radford.
